Why should we have a UPS?

Make sure you have our uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Battery Backup buying guide handy so that you are prepared for anything.

You won’t realize how important an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is until it goes out. Your expensive data and revenue can be lost.

Hope this ups buying guide will do help for you.

You won’t realize how important an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is until it goes out. Your precious data would be lost when something happen suddenly the Internet.

What is Uninterruptible Power Supply?

Q&A:what is mini dc ups?

There are three primary role of UPS: power inverter, surge protector, and backup battery. The power inverter and backup battery will provide power for our electronics during power outages, fluctuations or other disturbances. A UPS can protect against voltage spikes/surges as well as frequency noise/variation and harmonic distortion depending on which UPS model you choose.

Why should we have a UPS

A UPS is essential because electronic devices are expensive. You should be prepared for the unexpected. A UPS can be used to power computers, wireless networking equipment and televisions.

Even though they are brief, voltage spikes can easily cause damage to plug-in hardware. Overheating and cracks in wires can result from excess electricity.

A UPS backup battery allows you to back up data, shut down sensitive devices, and save/backup your data. You can use the backup battery to charge up enough power to run power generators and supply power long enough for AC power to be restored.

Common Power Problems

You can have a UPS protect you from many common power issues:

Blackout. The most well-known issue is blackout. This refers to complete loss of electric supply due either to a failure in utility equipment/power grid, natural disasters or human error. Blackouts can occur for as little as a few seconds up to several days.

Brownout. Brownout is also known by the term voltage dip or Undervoltage. Sometimes electricity can still reach electronic devices, but at a lower voltage and for a longer period of time. Although rarer than blackouts and more common in low-demand situations, this can often be caused by reduced power flows or compromised power resources.

Frequency Variation. This can occur when power generators have not been connected to the power system at the required frequency.

Harmonic Distortion. Electric devices, such as UPS systems, create harmonic distortion. They draw current in jagged pulses and not a smooth sinusoidal wave.

Line Noise. Line noise, also called frequency noise or interference of stray electromagnetic signal within a standard AC voltage. This can be caused either by other AC-connected devices, radio waves interference, power generation, lightning storms, and other AC-connected electronics. It can affect the performance of electronic devices.

Overvoltage. This is basically a power surge or a swell. It’s a higher voltage than normal that lasts for longer than a surge. It can last several days, or for a few seconds.

Power Surge/Spike. Also known as “transient Voltage”, this is an unexpected, brief increase in voltage beyond the normal limits of wall outlets. This voltage can be 0 to 169 volts (or greater than 110%). Lightning strikes can instantly cause huge power surges, which can damage or even destroy devices. Even small surges caused by defective contactors can cause long-lasting damage.

Voltage Sag. Brownout of shorter duration.

What UPS Type is suitable for You?

These are the factors that will determine which UPS is best for you:

The power problems you are trying to avoid (see the section above).

The number of electronic devices that you are looking to support with UPS.

The wattage the electronic devices you are connecting to the UPS

The runtime of the backup battery.

Form factor/how many square feet you have available for the UPS.

For example:

CustomerA: I want to buy a standby power supply for my wifi router. But there are too much types, I don’t know which one is my Mr.right.

Mylion: hi sir, what’s the working voltage and wattage of your wifi router?

CustomerA: 12voltage, 6W.

Mylion: Okay, how many back up time do you need?

CustomerA: About 5hours.

Mylion: Fine. where do you plan to install it?

CustomerA: I want to put it on my table.

Mylion: Got it, we recommend this type for you: MU48 12v mini dc ups with over 5hours. It has these advantages:

  1. Small size: 112x70x60mm, exquisite and does not tack up installation space;
  2. Light weigh: <500g, convenient to carry outside;
  3. 4 anti-slip mats on its button side: it will be very stable on the table or other flat place;
  4. Anti-fire ABS material: safe for user;
  5. 2 LED indicator: showing working and charging statue clearly;
  6. *Smart: when power failure, this mini back up power supply will keep you WiFi router
  7. *Working well about 4-9 hours, it depends on your device current;
  8. *2 hanging holes: it can be installed on wall or ceiling next to your electronics;
  9. *Battery protection: Temperature protect, Over charge & discharge, over current, short circuit;
  10. *Cycle life: standard charge & discharge capacity ≥80%, cycle life ≥600times;

CustomerA: Perfect! I’d like to have a try. Thank you.

Mylion: It’s my pleasure. Any question of ups, welcome to consult mylion team.
